Even though ‘Mary, Mother of God’ focuses on the figure of Virgin Mary, the composer himself (Marios Tokas) noted that in his mind this powerful work of religious music belongs to Easter and carries the ‘scent’ of this festivity.

Αν και η Θεογεννήτων Μαρία εστιάζει στη φιγούρα της Παναγίας, ο ίδιος ο Τόκας θεωρούσε ότι το συγκεκριμένο έργο θρησκευτικής μουσικής ανήκει στο Πάσχα και φέρει το «άρωμα» αυτής της γιορτής.
